Last night I attended a dinner meeting of resource persons and facilitators for the “Philippine Conference on FOSS and e-Governance” (7-8 March 2007). The meeting was sponsored by the Institute for Popular Democracy (IPD), the main organizer of the event.
I’m thankful for the opportunity to meet fellow advocates, several of whom I had not met in person. The virtual company through the blogroll became a reality through the dinner meeting. I’d like to make special mention of specific FOSS people I met last night, namely: Eloy Marcelo (the surgeon behind the success of CHITS), Dom Cimafranca (the peripatetic independent FOSS developer), Pete Lavina (Davao City councilor), and Yolynne Medina (an online marketing expert).
As I always wish: May the FOSS tribe increase.
